Venture Taranaki Chief Executive Stuart Trundle has welcomed news that the Trust's Chair John Young has been awarded Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit in the 2010 New Year's Honours.
"John's contribution to the Taranaki economy, through his involvement in shaping the diary sector and many more organisations, has been significant and sustained.
"Through his governance of Venture Taranaki Trust, John has had an indelible and positive influence on the region.
"John is the epitome of the Taranaki spirit. His immense achievements have been gained in a quiet yet confident way, and they have consistently benefited people right across the region.
"We heartily congratulate John on this well-deserved recognition and look forward to his continued stewardship of the Trust."
