Venture Taranaki to offer Hi-Impact Programme on Lean Manufacturing
A six-module programme delivered over three days, the manufacturing sessions are an introduction to lean operations management, and its application, benefits and pitfalls. Topics include introduction to lean, set-up reduction, value chain analysis measures, design to production and the theory of constraints.

Venture Taranaki attending Leeds Opportunties Expo to attract skilled labour to the region
As the region’s economic development agency, Venture Taranaki will be attending the Leeds Opportunities Expo in April 2008 with a number of local employers (Taranaki District Health Board, New Plymouth District Council, Taranaki Engineering Consortium and XLHR recruitment agency) who will all be looking to fill vacancies in a range of sectors. Taranaki’s Inglewood High School is in the throes of a one-year New Zealand-first pilot aimed at energy conservation and renewable energy generation expected to reduce the school’s electricity demand from the national grid by 15% in 12 months.
